Flashtalking – Senior Creative Technologist

My second position with the ad server Flashtalking. My role on the Studio support team was to help lead my team to record training videos, conduct training sessions, build working prototypes, troubleshooting live issues, and create better documentation and support material to better serve our clients faster. Utilizing what I learned in my former role on the production team, I was able to quickly spot areas for improvement to leave clients feeling more fully supported, faster.

Flashtalking – West Coast Creative Services Specialist

Working with the production team making data-driven ads for companies like StubHub, Toyota, Trulia, Peet’s Coffee, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and many others.


January 2012 – January 2013

Nom.com – Lead Flash Developer

Managing a  remote team of flash developers to produce and co-author 50+ Flash-based games on Android on the Nom platform. Also porting Flash games from Android to iOS, titles including:

  • Breakfast Swipe
  • Sushi Swipe

  • Date Night <3
  • Hot Dog Stand

August 2000 – June 2012

College of San Mateo – ActionScript Instructor

Writing and updating all the courseware for two sections of Flash and ActionScript classes. Taught the basics of the application, then programming to designers for the Multimedia Department.


August 2009 – October 2011

Context Optional – Flash Programmer

Working with Rails Engineers, programmed Flash-based visualizations, games, bitmap manipulation tools, audio/video players, and stream applications for clients like Toyota, Expedia, LG, and Dell on the Facebook Platform.


April 2008 – April 2009

Mixercast – Senior Flash Engineer

Working with a team of offshore engineers (in Minsk, Belarus, and Pune, India) to create and customize reusable widgets for social networks. Projects included Better Know a District for the Colbert Report on Comedy Central and Kohl’s “Get this look for Less” featured on Entertainment Tonight.


August 2006 – April 2008

Eveo – Senior ActionScript Programmer / Team Lead

Programming Pharmaceutical presentations for various drug companies.  Built a robust presentation framework that allowed quick changes to presentations based on last-minute review changes, and tracking mechanisms to help sales reps focus on new aspects of the presentations when revisiting doctors. Worked a lot with AS2, Flash Video, and Slide Presentations. I started to get into AS3, Flex, and Ruby.


November 2005 – July 2006

Orange Design – ActionScript Developer

Programmed games for the Leapfrog Leapster. I participated in programming the titles Animal Genius, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Pet Pals.

Antenna Audio

Programmed XML driven interfaces for Pocket PC base Museum Tours. Also worked extensively with subtitling/captioning content, and compressing audio/video files for various distributions.

Created a Flash-based website that looked like an operating system, then I helped with HTML mockups of web applications the company was building.

I made coffee for lots of people while trying to find out what I wanted to do for a career while taking college classes. I worked at the Burlingame Store.
